🎮 My Recovery Games
Recovery Games is a set of short, zero-knowledge, anti-shame mini-games and psychoeducation quizzes. Nothing here punishes a missed day or a broken streak — every game is a self-contained session you can pick up any time.
Accessing the Games
From the Dashboard, tap the Games tile in the Bento Grid to open the Games Hub. Two games aren't listed there — Craving Buster is reached in one tap from the SOS button, and Thought Challenge lives in My Tools instead (see below for both). Every other game listed in the Games Hub requires your Vault to be unlocked, since completed games are saved to your encrypted history the same way a journal entry is.
The Games
🌬️ Craving Buster — for the middle of an urge
A short (~90 second) breathing-rhythm tap game. Reachable in one tap from the SOS button (the warning triangle on your Dashboard header) without needing to unlock your Vault first — so it's never more than a moment away during a craving. It isn't listed on the Games Hub screen itself. If your Vault happens to be locked when you finish, the game still completes normally; your score just won't be saved to history until you unlock later.
💭 Thought Challenge — for sponsors and service workers
A CBT-style matching game: read a short thought, pick which unhelpful thinking pattern it fits, and see it explained. When you finish, you can optionally write a brief reframe of your own — that note is saved to your encrypted history just like a journal entry. Find it under My Tools → After a Hard Moment rather than the Games Hub — see the My Recovery Tools guide.
🎲 Recovery Jeopardy — for your group, sponsor, or sponsee
A pass-the-device trivia game for 1-3 players or teams, with two rounds and a Final Jeopardy wagering round. Built for a sit-down group activity — pass the device around and take turns.
🛣️ Fast Lane — a multi-week life simulation
A slower, deeper game: build financial and personal stability week by week (work, study, housing, self-care) while an AI companion works toward the same goals alongside you. Unlike every other game here, Fast Lane is resumable — your progress saves automatically as you play, so you can close the app and pick up again later, even across multiple sessions.
🪜 Goal Ladder — a short momentum check-in
Eight quick prompts, each one climbing a rung. There's no streak or reset inside the game itself, so there's nothing to break by skipping a day.
🎯 Trigger Match — pattern-recognition practice
Match short situations to the trigger category they fit best (Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired, Social, Environmental) — practice spotting a pattern before it lands.
📚 Knowledge Quests — short quiz packs
Bite-sized quizzes on recovery-adjacent topics — stress physiology, habit science, sleep — not tied to any one persona. Pick a pack from the list to start; more packs are added over time.
🧩 Daily Crossword — a quick, no-pressure puzzle
A short crossword themed around a recovery concept, freshly written each day and the same for everyone. There's no timer, score, or wrong-answer flag — if you get stuck, a gentle hint or full-letter reveal is always available. It's just for fun, so completing it doesn't add to your XP or level the way other games do.
Sharing a Milestone
Reaching your goals in Fast Lane, or winning a round of Recovery Jeopardy, shows a Share this milestone (or Share this win) button. It works the same way as sharing a sobriety milestone from your Dashboard — it renders a shareable image on your device and opens your phone's normal share sheet (or downloads the image directly if sharing isn't available on your device).
Your Data
Completed games are saved to your encrypted history the same way as everything else in MRT — a completed play's score and stats are visible for streak/XP purposes, but any written reflection is fully encrypted. Recovery Games history is included automatically in your Profile → Data exports (JSON and PDF) alongside your journals and tasks, and is permanently removed if you delete your account.
